Gary E. Jacobi, 83, passed away Friday January 24, 2025 in Seymour, IN. He was born in New Albany to the late Iva and George Jacobi.
Gary graduated from Purdue University with his degree in Pharmacy. After graduation he was very active in Purdue Caret and served on the Indiana State Board of Pharmacy and he owned and operated Floyds Knobs Pharmacy for 40 years. Gary was very active in the Kiwanis Club of Historic New Albany and the Seymour Kiwanis Club and he served on the New Albany Floyd County School Board for several years. He formerly attended the Greenville Christian Church, Floyds Knobs Christian Church, Park Christian Church and currently attended the First United Methodist Church in Seymour. Gary enjoyed any and all sporting events, but most of all, he loved to play golf.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Mervin and Bruce Jacobi, and his sister, Maxine Jacobi.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Linda Jacobi; his sons, Mark Jacobi (Bridey) and Matthew Jacobi (Elizabeth Fabrizio); and his grandchildren, Samantha and Alana Jacobi and Sarafina Fabrizio-Jacobi.
A Celebration of Gary's life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2025 at the Oak Street Chapel of Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes, 1846 E. Oak Street. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be given in Gary's name to the Purdue Institute for Cancer Research or the Riley Children's Foundation.
