Gerald William "Tim" Doup, 84, of Henryville, IN, passed away at 4:10 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2020, at The Waters of Scottsburg.

Tim was born on June 11, 1936, in Peewee Valley, KY. He was the son of Hiram and Evelyn Mary (Saylor) Doup; both preceded him in death.

Tim was a 1954 Henryville High School graduate.

On June 1, 1958, at the Henryville Community Presbyterian Church, he married Carolyn S. "Susie" (Rowland) Doup, who preceded him in death on April 25, 2019.

Tim retired from Adams IGA Meat Dept. as their Meat Manager. He was a meat cutter all his life. Tim learned how to work hard while at home raising and selling chickens. He started working in the grocery business at an early age and continued his hardworking ethic his entire life.

Tim was a member of the Henryville Community Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed the animals he had throughout his life, watching westerns, was a huge UK basketball fan and a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. He also enjoyed following college basketball and the team's statistics but most of all he loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Belcher (Rick) and Kim Guthrie (Ty), both of Henryville, IN; five grandchildren, Kristin Kleinert (Adam) of Henryville, IN, Cole Belcher (Ashley) of Henryville, IN, Case Belcher (Renee) of New Albany, IN, Whitney Shacklette (Aaron) of Henryville, IN, and Morgan Guthrie of Henryville, IN; 11 great-grandchildren, Sydney Kleinert, Eli Kleinert, Molly Kleinert, Brahm Kleinert, Abel Belcher, Ryder Belcher, Silas Belcher, Maverick Belcher, Breck Belcher, Allie Shacklette and Aspyn Shacklette.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Jack R. Doup.

Memorial services will be conducted by Pastor Mick Finch at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville, with visitation from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A private burial service will follow the funeral service at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
