Hazel A. Heim, of rural Borden, IN, passed away at 12:31AM on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Born February 25, 1957 in Clark County, IN, she was the daughter of Cecil Everett Grider and Dorothy Gertrude (Stewart) Grider, who are both deceased.

On December 26, 1996, she married Robert Bob Heim who survives in rural Borden, IN.

Hazel was a 1975 Henryville High School Graduate. She retired from the U.S. Census Bureau on Jan 2, 2016 where she was a Cartographic Technician. Hazel was an active member of Willeys United Methodist Church. She was also an active member with the Census Bureau Welfare and Recreation Association, an outreach to charities.

Other survivors include one daughter, Jessica Lynn (Corey) Collier of Charlestown, IN, 2 step children Nicole Heim of Borden, IN and Brandon Heim of Coconut Grove, FL, 5 grandchildren, Lauren Jacob, Bailey Bowser, Ethan Heim, Nicholas Heim and Emma Heim, 3 siblings, William (Angie) Grider of Memphis, IN, Virginia Grider and Wilma (Ed) Monk all of Henryville, IN.

Hazel was preceded in death by three siblings, Cecelia Ward, Timothy Grider, and James Grider.

Pastor Phil Ellis will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville, IN with burial to follow at Forrest Grove Cemetery at Willeys Chapel.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 and after 9:00 AM on Wednesday, both at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville.
