Charlestown, Indiana - Henry Darol Gilley, 85, of Charlestown, IN, passed away at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2021.

Henry was born on Thursday, July 18, 1935, in Hot Spot, KY. He is the son of Roy Gilley and Polly B. (Brown) Gilley, who both preceded him in death.

On September 12, 1960, he married Barbara (Furnish) Gilley at St. Michael Catholic Church in Charlestown, IN.

Henry attended Whitesburg High and Millersburg Military Institute in Millersburg, KY. After school, he was drafted by the U.S. Army during the Berlin Crisis of 1961. Henry retired from ICI in Charlestown, IN, and farming. He also owned two KFC franchises with his wife Barbara in Washington, IN, and Petersburg, IN.

Henry was a member of the First Baptist Church Henryville, Blazing Star 226 Masonic Lodge in Charlestown, IN, and was a board member of the Henryville Membership Sanitation Corporation. His hobbies included fishing, horses, and cattle.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara (Furnish) Gilley, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Hester.

Pastor Toby Jenkins will conduct funeral services on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Henryville.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 15, 2021, at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville, from 2 until 8 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at First Baptist Church, Henryville from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Cremation has been entrusted by Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory
