New Washington, IN - Janice Lea Stoner, 84, of New Washington, Indiana, passed away on June 8, 2026. Her family finds comfort knowing she is joyfully reunited in the kingdom of Heaven with her sons, Danny and David.
Born October 13, 1941, to Roy and Millie McDevitt, Janice was the sixth of seven daughters. The McDevitt family moved to Clark County where she attended Marysville Grade School before graduating from New Washington High School in 1959. After graduation, she studied at beauty school and later worked as a clerk for the Department of Agriculture until retiring in 1990.
On July 22, 1960, Janice married Marvin Stoner. The couple welcomed two sons: Daniel and David. Janice found her calling in caring for her family. The Stoners attended New Hope Community Church and were very active in the community. Janice supported and uplifted her friends and family with unwavering strength and love, and will be remembered with love by all who knew her. Janice was Grandma to 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Grayson's Funeral Home in New Washington, with visitation starting at 9:00 am with service at 1:00 pm. A burial service will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery on July 11, 2026 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the New Hope Community Church Youth Group.
