Jean Winkler Obituary
Jeffersonville, Indiana - Jean Winkler, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Lincoln Hills Health Center. Born on March 17, 1944, she was the cherished daughter of the late Roman and Ruth Keeton.
A lifelong Baptist, Jean carried her deeply rooted faith with her throughout her life. Professionally, she dedicated many years of meticulous hard work as the bookkeeper for Cash Machine Co. Outside of her career, Jean was a vibrant and social spirit who loved her time in the local Bunco Club, deeply valuing the laughter, camaraderie, and friendship she shared with her fellow members.
Jean also possessed a remarkable and celebrated talent for baking. Her extraordinary skills in the kitchen earned her multiple Blue Ribbons at the Kentucky State Fair, where her specialty cheesecakes were a beloved favorite.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and will be profoundly missed by her family. Jean is survived by her devoted son, Jeffrey Roman Winkler (Sandra) of New Albany, IN, and her beloved grandson, Vincent Roman Winkler of Sellersburg, IN. She is now joyfully reunited in peace with her loving husband, Joe E. Winkler; her twin sister, Jane M. Ward; and her parents.
A Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at E.M. Coots' Sons Funeral Home with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the service at the Funeral Home.
