Jeanne Riehl Obituary

Jeffersonville, Indiana - Jeanne Riehl, 84, of Jeffersonville, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, surrounded by the family she so dearly loved. Born on February 24, 1941, to the late Wilmer and Virginia Dickey, Jeanne lived a life defined by service, creativity, and connection.

A proud 1959 graduate of Jeffersonville High School, Jeanne went on to earn her Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Louisville in 1963. During her time at U of L, she was a dedicated member of the Kappa Delta Sorority, beginning a lifelong love for the university and its sports—she could almost always be found cheering on the Cardinals, especially on the basketball court.

Jeanne's faith and community were central to her life. As a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, she shared her spirit through the church choir and her remarkable talent for floral design. Her arrangements graced the sanctuary and the homes of many for years, a testament to her eye for beauty and her generous heart. She was also an active and social fixture in the Bridge Club and the Jeffersonville Study Club. When she wasn't volunteering or socializing, Jeanne was a legendary shopper, always on the hunt for the perfect bargain.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Arthur Marvin Riehl, PhD and her parents.

She is survived by her daughters, Becky Riehl Green (Walter), Debbie Riehl (Troy), and Barbara Riehl Glesing (Brian), "bonus" daughter, Jennifer Waiz (Todd); grandchildren, Katie Daily Reef (Adam), Zach Daily, Virginia Sauer Labrum (Chris),Patrick Sauer, Sophia and Claire Trinkle; great- grandchildren Charlotte JoAnn Reef and Magnolia Louise Reef; nephews Gerry Haas (Kaye) and Steve Case (Pam); niece Cindy Ehringer (Mark); along with many great nieces and nephews.

A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Jeffersonville, IN, with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the service at the church.

The family would like to give a special "Thank you" to our special friends/caregivers, Leisha Baynard, Nikki Roberts, Debbie Kleehammer, Jennifer Waiz, and Charlotte Cook.
