JoAnn Leuthart Obituary

Jeffersonville, Indiana - JoAnn Leuthart, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Westminster Health Care Center.

Born on January 9, 1937 to George and Lillian Cottingham, she was a lifelong member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

JoAnn dedicated her life to caring for others. She was in the first graduating class of Our Lady of Providence High School in 1952. She then went on to earn her bachelor's degree in nursing from St. Joseph's School of Nursing, she served as a respected Surgical Nurse at Clark Memorial Hospital for 48 years. Beyond her professional life, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother finding joy in her family, a good round of golf, and leisurely walks.

She is survived by sons, Robert Leuthart (Chinky) of Clarksville, IN, Marc Leuthart (Karmo) of Valparaiso, IN, and David Leuthart (Shan) of Borden, IN; grandchildren, Haley Leuthart of Valparaiso, IN, Keegan Leuthart of Rockledge, FL, and Kassie Leuthart of Arlington, VA; great-grandchildren Wyatt, Lincoln, and Colter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" Leuthart Jr.; son John Leuthart III; brothers, George Cottingham, Daniel Cottingham, Arthur Cottingham, Donald Cottingham, and John Cottingham; sisters, Patricia Bauerla, Lillian Turner, Mildred Leezer, and Catherine Pinto.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 4-8 p.m. at E.M. Coots' Sons Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Augustine Catholic Church Renovation Fund.
