Jeffersonville, Indiana - Joe Ruskin Rothrock, 77, a beloved Papaw passed away on April 23, 2025, at his cherished camp at Blue River in Corydon, Indiana where he was born and raised.

Joe was a proud graduate of Jeffersonville High School, Class of 1966. He retired from General Electric after many dedicated years of service and was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 1527. He was a devoted Indiana Hoosier fan!

Joe had a heart as wide as the river he loved. Whether fishing along the banks, riding his motorcycle or caring for his dog, Ellie, his camp at Blue River was his happy place. It was his sanctuary where lots of wonderful memories were made with friends and loved ones.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Ruskin Rothrock and Elsie Johnson Love; his beloved wife, Sally McDonough Rothrock and his daughter, Laura Rothrock Howard.

He leaves behind a family who loved him dearly: his granddaughter, Meghen Elizabeth Barker; his great-granddaughter, Sarah Barker; his stepdaughter, Dana Crawley (Zev); and his step-grandsons, Zev Crawley II (Lauren) and Pierce Crawley (Ariana).

Joe's legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

The family of Joe invites you to join them for a memorial visitation at E.M. Coots' Sons Funeral Home on Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A special time to share stories and remember Joe will be held at 6:00 p.m.

A private burial will follow at a later date at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
