John Kerrigan Obituary

Noblesville, IN - John H. Kerrigan Jr., formerly of Noblesville and Carmel, Indiana, passed away on July 31. He was born October 7, 1943, to Dr. John H. Kerrigan and Bette Cook Kerrigan and was raised in Sidney, Ohio.

He attended Holy Angels High School before graduating from Purdue University School of Pharmacy. John dedicated 35 years to Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis, where he held a variety of technical and management roles. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. As a Second Lieutenant, he was a tank platoon commander and company executive officer, earning the Navy Commendation Medal with Combat Valor.

In 1971, John married Carol Barrett of Indianapolis. They raised their three children in Noblesville, where they rarely missed an opportunity to cheer them on at youth and high school sporting events. In 2024, John and Carol moved to Floyds Knobs, Indiana. John is survived by Carol, his wife of 55 years and sons, Dan Kerrigan (Leslie) of Greer, SC, Brian Kerrigan (Stacy) of Indianapolis, and daughter, Courtney Prifogle (Scott) of Lanesville, IN. He was devoted to his seven grandchildren: Jack, Eli, Will and Wes Kerrigan and Samantha, Taylor, and Landry Prifogle. John is also survived by three sisters: Terri Bunker of Denver, CO, Cindy Crane (Howard) of Seattle, WA; and Patty Wagner (Joe) of Hamilton, OH.

John will be remembered for his generous spirit, kind heart, and unwavering dependability. He never met a stranger, was always willing to lend a helping hand and gave his time and resources to those in need.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5 from 6-8 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan, 325 East Carmel Drive, Carmel, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Carmel, IN, at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 6. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
