John Daniel O'Bryan Wibbels Obituary
Clarksville, Indiana - John Daniel O'Bryan Wibbels, 81, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away
peacefully on October 15, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, he was
the son of Flora Margaret Porter Wibbels and John Leo O'Bryan, and
the stepson of Harold E. Wibbels.
John was the devoted husband of Diane Krekel Wibbels, his wife of 58 years, and the proud father of Heather Wibbels (Brooks White) and Andy
Wibbels (Ron Zamora). He is also survived by his brothers Ron Wibbels of Floyd Knobs, IN, and Jack Wibbels of Charlestown, IN.
A graduate of Indiana University with bachelor's, master's, and Ed.S. degrees, John dedicated 34 years to teaching in the Greater Clark County
School system. Known for his humor, quick wit, and love of storytelling, he brought warmth and laughter to countless students, friends, and family.
Visitation will be held on Monday,October 20th, 3:00pm to 7:00pm, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, Southern Indiana
Chapel, 3309 Ballard Lane New Albany Indiana, 47150. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 21st, 11am, at St, Anthony Padua Catholic Church,
316 N Sherwood Ave, Clarksville Indiana 47129.
