Joyce Marie (Prall) Dickson, 88, of Henryville, IN passed away at her home at 11:15 p.m. on June 14, 2023.

Joyce was born at her family home in Henryville on December 14, 1934, to Houston Gilbert and Bernice Marie (Snelson) Prall, both who preceded her in death.

On November 22, 1956, at the Blue Lick Christian Church, she married Larry Paul Dickson, who survives in Henryville.

Joyce was a class of 1952 Silver Creek High School graduate. After high school she attended Purdue University class of 1957 where she graduated with a B.S. in Home Economics.

Joyce was a 10-year member of 4-H and has been in 4-H for over 58 years, serving on the 4-H Corporation Board, Extension Board, PCARET. She was the leader of Blue Lick Strivers Club, a coach of the county entomology and forestry teams and a mentor in the Clark County 4-H program. She was the president of the local Extension Homemakers Club, former secretary at the Church of Christ where she also served as a Bible school director and teacher. Joyce enjoyed collecting bells and small lamps. She was always a room mother for her sons and the best stay-at-home mom. Joyce loved flowers, bird watching, traveling with her husband, loved the outdoors, watching her grandkids and great-grandkids at their events, and was proud to have a family background in farming.

Survivors include her loving husband, Larry Paul Dickson of Henryville; her children, Perry Daniel Dickson of Henryville, and Terry Paul (Linda) Dickson of Henryville; four grandchildren, Sherry (Jody) Speaks of Memphis, Abby (Matt) Ramsey of Henryville, Elizabeth (Shane) Baker of Georgetown, and Rebekah Dickson of Henryville; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, John (Billie) Prall of Henryville; and one sister-in-law, Mary Lou Prall.

She was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Sheila Dickson, one brother, Huston Prall, infant sister, and one grandchild, Lillian Dickson.

Private services will be held at a later date.
