Carol passed away at her home in Kearny, AZ after years of mobility issues. Everyone marveled at how she managed to be as active as she was-and always with a positive attitude and smile.

She was born in Stanford, KY to parents Jerry and Eva Franz while Jerry was serving in WWII.

Carol graduated from Clarksville High School and Indiana University. She was an early childhood teacher for many years in schools throughout the midwest and western United states.

She married Don McNeil August 12, 1990 at Don's parents' home.

Carol is survived by her husband Don, stepson Dustin McNeil, and several step-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister Louise (Lakeland, FL); and three brothers, Bob (Huntington Beach, CA), Ed (Louisville, KY), and Chuck (Bloomington, IN).

She was preceded in death by her parents Gerald W. Franz and Eva J. Hilton Franz. Her stepson Derrick McNeil also preceded her in death as well as great-nephew Carter Ankeny.

After cremation, a Celebration of Life was held at her childhood home in Clarksville, IN on October 27, 2024.
