Funeral services for June Coombs, 87, Henryville, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 1, at Henryville United Methodist Church, with burial to follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. She passed away Monday, June 27, 2016.

Born June 15, 1929 in Scott County, she was the daughter of John Lyles and Fern (Stewart) Lyles. In May of 1951 she married Earl E. Coombs Sr. who preceded her in death on July 18, 1990. She was a 1947 Scottsburg High School graduate. She worked in the Henryville School cafeteria as a lunchroom manager in the 1960's, and then worked in retail at Target formerly known as Arye Way. June was a member of Henryville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking and loved her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca S. (Tony) Rucker, Henryville; three grandchildren, Tia Marie Laws, Collinsville, AL, Alan Michael Rucker, Morehead, Ky., and John Edward Rucker, Henryville; and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Earl Edward Coombs Jr. on Aug. 29, 2012.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory, Henryville, and after 10 a.m. Friday, at the church.
