Karen Lou Burgess, 69, of New Albany, IN passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025 at University of Louisville Hospital.
She was born on December 6, 1955, in North Vernon, IN to the late Malcolm and Mary (Sharp) King. She was retired from American Data in Louisville, KY and loved her flowers and wildlife.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Kristopher Stephens of New Albany, and two brothers, Tom King of North Vernon and Denny King of Scipio, IN.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Edge (Timothy) of Cullman, Alabama; three sisters, Marsha White, Diane Spurgeon and Kathy King; and a sister-in-law, Beth King, all of Indiana. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Michael Willis of Bowling Green, KY, Mikka Willis of Bozeman, Montana and Myles Stephens of Bowling Green, KY; a great-grandchild, Jude Stephens of Bowling Green, KY; and fiancé, John White of New Albany.
A service to celebrate and remember Karen will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kraft Funeral Service, 708 East Spring Street, New Albany.
Expressions of sympathy are suggested to charities she supported, The Arbor Day Foundation, St. Jude and the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
