Karen Sue Cox Obituary

Clarksville, Indiana - Karen Sue Cox passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. She was born January 31, 1943, in Huntington, West Virginia, to the late Lawrence and Anna Watson.

After graduating high school, Karen pursued her passion for education and became a teacher with Kenton County Schools, where she spent many years nurturing young minds and inspiring the youth of her community.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Walton Cox; her father and mother; and her sister, Patricia Giba.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Margo (Rob) Rippy; her son, Corey (Heather) Slais; and her brother, Roger (Ellen) Watson. Her grandchildren—Jessica Slais, Parker Slais, Kyle Rippy, Brantly Rippy, and Kelby Rippy, and many nieces and nephews— to carry on her legacy of love and laughter. She leaves behind a family that was and always will be her pride and joy.

A private family service will take place at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions, Southern Indiana Chapel, with a celebration of Karen's life to be held on May 9th. 2026, please reach out to the family for further details.
