Henryville, Indiana - Katherine Louise Adams, 96, of Henryville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Hampton Oaks in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was born on April 8, 1929, in Lewisport, Kentucky, to Robert Lee and Mozel (Wood) McDaniel.

Katherine was a dedicated worker, spending much of her career on the assembly line at GE in Tell City and Louisville before retiring in 1989. She was a proud member of the Blue Lick Christian Church, where her faith and community were central to her life. Katherine loved quilting, crocheting, cooking, and cheering on Indiana University basketball.

On June 3, 1950, she married the love of her life, Orville Denby Adams, in Tell City, Indiana. They shared a loving marriage until his passing in 2000. Katherine was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Richard Lee Adams; her three brothers, Alvy McDaniel, Joseph McDaniel, and Bill McDaniel; and her sister, Trecy Boutcher.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and family, survived by her children Larry McDaniel of Lafayette, Indiana; Donna (Bruce) Thomas of Springfield, Illinois; Louann Hughes of Henryville, Indiana; Jeaneen (Bob) Beach of Henryville, Indiana; and Doug Adams of Henryville, Indiana. She was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren and a great-grandmother to sixteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Elaine (Jack) Lehue of Nolansville, TN.

Dave Colbert will conduct funeral services on Tuesday May 13, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory in Henryville, IN with a graveside service to follow at Bowery Cemetery.

Family and friends may visit from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday May 12, 2025 and from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Tuesday May 13, 2025 all at Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory in Henryville, IN

Katherine's life was a testament to hard work, devotion to her family, and a commitment to her community and faith. Her kind and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
