Jeffersonville, IN - Larry Hayden, age 85, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on October 17, 2025.
He was born on July 8, 1940, in Corydon, Indiana, the son of Marvin and Mattie Hayden.
Larry dedicated many years of faithful service to Falls of the Ohio State Park before retiring. Earlier in his career, he worked as a foreman for Eaton Corporation in Louisville, Kentucky. A man of strong faith, Larry was a devoted member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.
Larry had many passions in life. He was an avid knife collector, a loyal IU basketball fan, and loved spending time outdoors. Above all, he will be remembered as a hardworking man who deeply loved his family.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, David Hayden; grandson, Tyler Pitzer; sister-in-law, Betty Hayden. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Marlene Lone Hayden; children, Barry Hayden(Kathy), Valerie Pitzer(Lance), Yvonne Chambers(Bryan), Krista Tornado(Tommy); brothers, Lancy Hayden, Delbert Hayden(Chris); along with 7 grandchildren, Jeremy, Jocelyn, Kyle(Sarah), Kayla(Josh), Bailey(Jordan), Carly(Derek), Rylee; and 7 great-grandchildren.
There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 4-8pm at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. Mass will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 11am located at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 316 N Sherwood Ave, Clarksville, Indiana 47129.
