Georgetown, Indiana - Linda Cheryl Manning, 80, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 28, 2026, with her daughter by her side. Born on July 2, 1945, in LaGrange, Kentucky, Linda was the daughter of Harlen and Minnie Purvis McKinney. Fresh out of high school, she began her career in banking as a teller at Mutual Trust, eventually retiring from PNC Bank as a mortgage originator after many years of dedicated service. Along the way, she also devoted herself to creating a loving home, supporting her husband and children, and helping build the strong foundation of her family. She was also a faithful member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Lanesville, where she and Paul formed lifelong bonds of Christian fellowship and friendship. Those who knew Linda will remember her gentle spirit, kind heart, and selfless nature. Soft-spoken and humble, she always put others before herself and would do anything for her family and friends. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with the people she loved. Linda found joy in life's simple pleasures, including watching sports with her husband, tending to her flowers, reading a good book, and spending time on her front porch. Whether family, friends, or neighbors stopped by, she made everyone feel welcome. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Paul D. Manning; her son, Brent Manning; her parents; her brother, Larry James McKinney; her sisters, Ella (Mckinney) Daley, JoElen (McKinney) Yopp, and Ruth Ann McKinney; and her brother-in-law, David Sizemore. She is survived by her daughter, Traci L. Manning of Georgetown; her grandchildren; and many cherished nieces and nephews, several of whom she helped raise. Linda's love, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered always. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, Indiana. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Michael Chanley of Tunnel Hill Christian Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth, Indiana.
