New Albany, Indiana - Lloyd Earl Chenault, age 85, passed away peacefully at home on December 9, 2025, with his family lovingly by his side. Born in Rock Haven, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Rhea T. and Lorene J. Chenault. Lloyd lived a life marked by hard work, dedication, and deep devotion to those he loved.
A proud and skilled tradesman, Lloyd built a respected career as a pipefitter and welder with Local 522, where his craftsmanship was well known, always passing inspection and any pending x-ray with ease. Even after the union's merger with Local 502, his commitment to the brotherhood continued, staying involved and supporting the work and workers that meant so much to him.
Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Connie Yates Chenault; his daughters, Sara Olin (Joseph), Teresa Bennett (Roy), and Cynthia Ballard; three cherished grandchildren; four beloved great-grandchildren; and his brother, Thomas Chenault (Anna). His family was his greatest joy, and he took immense pride in each generation that followed him.
A memorial visitation will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway in Jeffersonville. A memorial service honoring his life will be celebrated at 4 p.m. at the funeral home, immediately following visiting hours.
