Loretta M. Richert Obituary

Loretta M. Richert, 84, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at the Waters of Georgetown.

She was born in Tell City, IN to the late Lucille (Jarboe) and Leonard Goffinet. She attended Our Lady of Providence High School (Class of 1958) and went on to graduate from Cosmetology School. She worked as a hairdresser until she started her family. She then began caring for children, including her own grandchildren, for over 30 years and she loved those children as if they were her own.

Loretta was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (OLPH) and she enjoyed traveling, reading, shopping at Flea Markets, playing Bunco and she may have been spotted at a Casino or two along the way.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death just two weeks ago by her husband of 65 years, Donald "Donnie" Richert, and her brother, Dennis Goffinet.

Survivors include her daughter, Chanda Daily (Patrick); her son, Deron Richert (Tammy); her sister, Evelyn Stark; her grandchildren, Lauren, Jessica, Shelby, Christian, Ella and Caleb; and six great-grandchildren.

Loretta's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the care staff at the Waters of Georgetown. They treated her with as much love and compassion as if she were a member of their own family.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2025 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1752 Scheller Ln., New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the Market Street Chapel of Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes, 1119 E. Market Street from Noon - 6 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday before the Mass.

Memorial contributions may be given to OLPH or the Parkinsons Foundation.
