Louis (Louie) E. Eve, 96, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Carolyn Eve; parents, Isadore and Helen Eve; brothers, Robert Eve, Norman Eve, and Donald Eve.

A Radioman in the Intelligence and Reconnaissance Platoon of the 17th "Buffalo" Infantry Regiment in the United States Army (Sergeant) during the Korean War. A member of VFW Post 1693 and a lifetime member of the Combat Infantry and 17th Infantry Regiment Associations.

A printer by trade, he worked for Slater Printing for over 20 years and retired from Beechmont Press, both in Louisville. He was a member of the Louisville Typographical Union #10. He had a Christmas Tree farm for several years. He was a member of the New Albany Township Volunteer Fire Department and served as an elected member of the Franklin Township Advisory Board for several years.

He loved camping and traveling to 49 states and many of the provinces in Canada. A a member of the Good Sam Camping Club. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.

Louie is survived by his daughter, Sue Ellen Terrell; his son, Karl Eve (Becky); his grandson, Micah Terrell (Erica); his granddaughter, Allison Terrell; his great-grandson, Julian Edward-Thomas Terrell; his nieces and nephews, Belinda Hancock (James), Anita Sharp, Norma Faith (Tony), Sharon Schroeder, Kathy Hall (Mark), Wanda Haming (John), Mary Sue Skaggs (Greg), Janet Williams (Bob) and Richard Eve (Chris); and great nieces and nephews.

Many thanks to the staff and the residents at The Mansion on Main who made his stay enjoyable where he was a resident for several years.

Funeral arrangements will be private and have been entrusted to the Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes.
