Floyds Knobs, Indiana - Marilyn Pat (Emily) Banet, born February 26, 1934, to the late Chester and Lula Carpenter, Marilyn died on January 4, 2026, at the age of 91. She was a member of the Saint Mary's of the Knobs Catholic Church. Marilyn retired from New Albany Floyd County Schools.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Joe" Banet; a son, Michael Banet; her four sisters; and her five brothers.

Marilyn is survived by her sons, Rex (Veronica) Banet and Carl Banet; her daughters, JoAnn Banet and Brenda Banet; and her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 East Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana, on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm and on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.

Her funeral mass will be at Saint Mary's of the Knobs Catholic Church, Floyds Knobs, Indiana, on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 11:00 am.

Marilyn will be laid to rest at Saint Mary's of the Knobs Catholic Cemetery, Floyds Knobs, Indiana.
