Jeffersonville, IN - Marilyn (Beckort) Lee, age 92, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025. She was born on April 21, 1933 on the family farm in Laconia, Indiana to Ferne and Roy Beckort.

As a youth she was active in Harrison County 4-H. She graduated from Laconia High School in 1951 and the day after high school graduation, she began working at GMAC. It was there that she met Ralph Lee and they married in 1955. Together they bought their first home in Oak Park (Jeffersonville) in 1957, where they raised their family and continued to live throughout their almost 68-year marriage. Once their children reached school age, Marilyn began working at Middle Road School and continued with Greater Clark County Schools as the Cafeteria Purchasing Agent for the district.

Marilyn was devoted to her family. She attended every sports and musical activity of her children and grandchildren. She volunteered many hours supporting the Jeffersonville swim teams and continued her support of Jeffersonville High School Athletics long after her children and grandchildren graduated. In her later years she found joy in cooking for her family, playing with her great-grandchildren, and watching her beloved Indiana Hoosiers and Cincinnati Reds.

She was a 50-year active member of First Christian Church of Jeffersonville where for many years she coordinated bereavement meals and supported a variety of church projects. She was also a charter member of Falls Cities Optimist Club and the Ivy Diggers Camping Club.

She is survived by her children Joan (Don) Allen, Keith and David Lee, her grandchildren Kelly, Chris (Kelli) and Patrick Allen, and her great-grandsons Trevor and Connor Allen. She is also survived by her brother Paul (Judy) Beckort, her brother-in-law Brad Tufts, and three nieces and a nephew.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Lee and her sister Betty (Beckort) Tufts.

Scott Funeral Home, Veterans Parkway, is entrusted with her care. The funeral service will be on Monday, July 28, 2025 at 11 AM at First Christian Church of Jeffersonville, 3209 Middle Road. Visitation will be at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, on Sunday, July 27 from 1-6 PM and then at the church on Monday from 10 AM until the time of the service.
