Martin D. Bonney
Martin D. Bonney Sr., age 70, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Clark Memorial Hospital. He worked as a computer programmer for Blue Cross and Humana. He was an entrepreneur at heart, always looking for a problem he could solve or a service he could provide. He started a wedding photography business and opened Top Page, which provided graphic and typesetting services to local advertising agencies. He was a native of Clarksville. He was a follower of Christ as a member of the Church of Christ.
In the early 70s, he received two kidney transplants, each from a different sister, a year apart. The second transplant functioned as intended for 45 years until he passed.
He was preceded by his parents, William and Sylvia Bonney, brothers William Bonney Jr. and Richard Bonney.
Martin is survived by his loving wife, Donna L. Craig Bonney, Jeffersonville, IN; his son, Dee Bonney and his wife Megan of Indianapolis, IN; daughter, Natalie Hillard and her husband Randy of Charlestown, IN; sisters, Loretta Bratcher and her husband Lennie of Jeffersonville, IN, Martha Gullion of Charlestown, IN, Linda Kirchner of Jeffersonville, IN, and Carol Powell and her husband Doug of Jeffersonville, IN; and grandchildren: Gabriel Bonney, Gavin Bonney, Grayson Bonney, Griffin Bonney, and Miles Bonney.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5-8 p.m Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at the Carriage House at the Howard Steamboat Museum at 1101 E. Market Ave in Jeffersonville. Please join us as we honor and pay tribute to this man who, despite decades of health problems, counted himself the most blessed person he knew. Feel free to come and go. At 6 p.m. Dee Bonney will offer a eulogy to celebrate this life well-lived.
