Jeffersonville, Indiana - Marvin Thurman Potter, 69, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Lincoln Hills Nursing Home. He was born on December 13, 1954, to the late Thurman and Minnie Potter.

Marvin, a graduate of Clarksville High School, furthered his education at Sullivan University where he earned certificates in Office Management and Data Processing. His career path led him to sales, where he represented Avon, Pampered Chef, and Shaklee and Watkins.

A man of strong community spirit, Marvin was known for his caring nature and honesty. He dedicated his time to raising money for cancer research and actively participated in the March of Dimes. In his leisure time, he enjoyed photography, was a loyal listener of WAKY Radio, and never missed a chance to dance the Twist.

He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Nancy Potter of Jeffersonville; sister, Sandra Potter of Clarksville; sisters-in-law, Joyce Fulda, Charlene Meyer, Donna Martin, Annette Meyer, Elaine Meyer, and Lori Meyer (Douglas); brothers-in-law, Stephen Meyer, Dennis Meyer, Lawrence Meyer, Richard Meyer (Melissa), Ronald Meyer (Janice), Gregory Meyer, and Brian Meyer (Siyang); along with many nieces and nephews; and two great-nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and in-laws, Robert and Mary Ann Meyer.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 10 a.m. at E.M. Coots' Sons Funeral Home with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tribute Fund or directly to the funeral home.
