Jeffersonville, Indiana - Funeral services for Mary Elaine Lentz Shean, 89, of Jeffersonville, Indiana will be held at 1:00

on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway in Jeffersonville,

with burial to follow in New Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28 from

10:00 AM until the time of the service on Saturday afternoon at the funeral home. She passed

away on Monday, June 23, 2025 at Norton Clark Hospital.

Mary Elaine was born on November 9, 1935 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to the late Culmer Lentz,

and Ruth Sage Lentz. She retired from the United States Census Bureau in 2001 after 24 years

of service. Prior to that she worked for the Greater Clark County Schools as an instructional

aide at Maple and Ewing Lane Elementary Schools. Her favorite job ever was instructional

aide/librarian at Eastlawn Elementary. Prior to that she had worked in the office at Belknap

Hardware and Colgate Palmolive's Louisville Office. Mary Elaine was a lifelong member of Wall

Street United Methodist Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was involved in many church

activities over the years such as the Decorating Committee, Evening Lights Circle, and various

Sunday school classes. Mary Elaine was also a member of Tri Kappa Sorority being initiated in

1954.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Lentz, and her

spouse, John Shean.

Mary Elaine is survived by her four children, Chris Shean (Christine) of Prospect, KY ; Brian

Shean of Jeffersonville, IN; Brent Shean (Nathalie) of Georgetown, IN; Celeste Harrigan (Dan)

of Louisville, KY; four grandchildren, Clara Shean, Ryan Shean, Molly Shean, and Isabella

Harrigan.
