Strawberry Plains, TN - Matthew Gauge Morgan, age 21, formerly of Borden, IN, passed away on Monday, September 29, leaving behind a family and community who loved him deeply.
Matthew was known for his sense of humor and spirited debates. He loved video games, Magic the Gathering, hunting and spending time with family. His spirit was bright, and his presence brought warmth and laughter to those who knew him.
He is survived by his father and adopted mother, Brian and Katie Morgan, biological mother and step-father, Stephanie and Branson Burgess, his older sister, Megan Webb, and younger brother, Jacob Morgan, who will carry his memory in their hearts always.
Though Matthew's life ended far too soon, his impact will continue in the stories, memories, and love he gave so freely. His family wishes for his legacy to remind others of the importance of compassion, connection, and reaching out when the weight of life feels too heavy.
A service to honor Matthew's life will be held on October 11th from 2 - 4pm at the Charlestown Arts & Enrichment Center, located at 999 Water Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Full Court Warmth, a project near to Matthew's heart bringing blankets and shoes to low-income children for Christmas.
