Nina Miller Obituary

Nina Miller passed away at the age of 78 on January 4, 2025.

Born on April 15, 1946 in Brazil, Indiana, Nina was a much-loved wife, mother, mo/grandma, and dear friend.

Beyond her family and friends, Nina loved her cats, Big Gary and Georgie; countless dogs and cats over the course of her lifetime; and any wild animal that came to her back door, including her favorite "Dragons" (coyotes).

An artist at heart and in fact, Nina loved all things beautiful and instilled an appreciation for art and whimsy in her children.

She spent some years as a homemaker and then in electronics sales before retiring. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband and, often, family members, visiting Asia, Europe, Hawaii, and more.

Some of her happiest times were spent volunteering with the food pantry for the Center for Lay Ministries, and working with young readers at Wilson Elementary School.

Nina was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 53 years, Lew Miller; her first husband, Dom Lee; parents, Albert and Maxine Burch; and sister, Myra.

She is survived by her children, Jenna Esarey (Jeff), Laura Garrett (Tony), and Allison Miller; grandchildren, Curtis Esarey (Missy), Rachel Wood (Matt), Jacob Garrett, Isabelle Glenn Garrett; great grandchild, Nellie Mae Esarey; dear friends Pam and CA Walker; as well as numerous friends and extended family members.

Nina wished for a family-only burial ceremony to be held at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville on a date to be determined later. She will be buried with her beloved husband, Lew.

Donations in her honor may be made to Center for Lay Ministries Food Pantry on Maple Street in Jeffersonville.
