Jefferson City, Missouri - Patricia (Patty) Ann Russell

November 7th, 1952 - June 19th, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved, Patty, who departed this life on June 19th, 2025, at the age of 72 in Jefferson City, MO.

Born in Columbia, MO, Patty was the daughter of Jesse Raymond Roberson and Opal Belle Roberson. She graduated from Hickman High School in 1971 and went on to graduate with an Associates of Arts degree from Oklahoma State University: School of Technical Training in 1974. In 1973, Patty married her childhood sweetheart, Kent Russell, and they spent a lifetime together making memories and raising a family.

During her life, she spent time working as a Land Secretary for both City Service in Tulsa, Oklahoma as well as Jet Oil Company. With her intellect and skills, she quickly moved up the ranks to the level of Corporate Secretary for Home Stake Oil and Royalty Corporation; having a seat on the Board of Directors. She moved to Jefferson City, MO in 1986 to accommodate her husband's job as well as to be closer to her family. She spent several years as a stay at home mother to her boys, Adam and Blake. She made many sacrifices at this time and her efforts were commendable. Lastly, signifying the caring person she was, she spent many years working various roles within the Jefferson City Public School system-mostly within the realm of Special Education. She retired in 2013.

Patty was known for her dry humor, perfectly timed sarcasm, and nonconformist attitude. Patty spent a lifetime ensuring everyone in her close circle was taken care of. She touched many lives with her cooking (most notably her cabbage casserole and strawberry pretzel salad), making those around her laugh, and encouraging them not to care of other's opinions. She adored spending time skiing in the mountains, tending to her garden, watching hummingbirds feed on her back patio, writing her annual Christmas letter to friends and family, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, Mizzou Tigers, and Kansas City Chiefs with her husband, Kent, and cheering on her boys as they progressed through life.

She was the wife of Kent Russell and proud mother of Adam and Blake Russell. She is also survived by her brothers David, Bruce, and Dan Roberson, her loving daughter in law, Samantha Russell, and new granddaughter, Rose Russell. Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Raymond Roberson (2025) and her mother, Opal Belle Roberson (2013). The family likes to think they are all together rejoicing in love.

A celebration of life will be held for Patty on June 27th, 2025 at the McClung Park Indoor Pavilion from 5pm to 8pm. Friends and family are welcome to attend to honor and remember Patty's amazing life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or the American Cancer Society, in Patty's honor.

Her love, fun nature, and compassion for others will forever remain with those who knew her.
