Jeffersonville, Indiana - Paul Vernon Urbahns, 83, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on June 23, 2025, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Valparaiso, Indiana, Paul was the son of Grace McIntosh Urbahns and Vernon Urbahns. A man of devout faith and unending curiosity, Paul embraced life with a passion for learning, exploration, and service. He attended Ball State University before beginning a distinguished career in aviation. Over the years, Paul served in various roles as a pilot and instructor, ultimately spending 30 years as a corporate pilot for Humana.

On May 25, 1989, Paul married his sweetheart, Dawn Ann Frank. He was a devoted husband, father to his daughter Jennifer Elliott, and a proud grandfather to Adiitsai and Anabaah of New York, New York.

Paul lived life fully. He was an avid tennis player and a member of the Southern Indiana Tennis Center. He also enjoyed pickleball, cycling, traveling, skiing, sailing, motorcycling, and — above all —spending time with his grandchildren. His enthusiasm for life and learning left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He was an active member of Southeast Christian Church, participating in Bible studies and men's groups that nourished his spiritual life and personal relationships.

Paul is survived by his loving wife Dawn Urbahns, his daughter Jennifer Elliott, his cherished grandchildren Adiitsai and Anabaah, and his sister Carol Stephens. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grace and Vernon Urbahns, and his brother Alan Urbahns.

A visitation will be held on July 1 from 2:00-4:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 4:00 p.m., at Southeast Christian Church, located at 1309 Charlestown New Albany Road, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130.

Paul's arrangements have been entrusted to the Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes in New Albany, IN.

Paul's legacy of love, adventure, and faith lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
