Richard Bogusz Obituary

Sellersburg, IN - Richard F. Bogusz, lovingly known as "Jaj," 89, passed away on October 12, 2025. He was born on August 14, 1936, to the late Francis and Emily Bogusz. Richard worked as a Draftsman and served in the Army. Richard enjoyed going to his children's and grandchildren's sporting events and activities, fishing, and was a former member of the Borden Lions Club. Whenever he was asked how he was, he would always respond with "cool and serene."

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Emily Bogusz; wife, Sherry Bogusz; siblings, Robert Bogusz and Rita Kurczynski; and son-in-law, Thomas Downs.

Left to cherish Richard's memory are his children, Janet Downs and Denise Friedersdorf; grandchildren, Anthony Friedersdorf (Caity), Wyatt Friedersdorf, Jaret Friedersdorf (Ricky Modglin), Abby Fackler (Calvin), and Whitney Simpson (Bobbey); great-grandchildren, Joplin Roy, Carson, Zakk, Willow, Moses, CC, Jared, and Liam; sister-in-law, Ann Marie Bogusz; and a host of extended family members and friends.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home, located at 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY, 40213, on October 19, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place at 3:00pm.
