Robert Earl "Bob" Johnson Sr. 84 years of age died Saturday October 15, 2016. He was born August 6, 1932 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Manuel Robert and Lorenna (Carol) Johnson. Bob was the owner of the Bob Johnson Painting Company for some 60 years and the widower of Sue (Hess) Johnson. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, a 58 year member of Graceland Baptist Church and a past Grand Master and member of Odd Fellows Hope Lodge #1 in New Albany.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 60 years Sue, a son Rob Johnson Jr. and sister Virginia Vaughn. Bob will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan D. Miller (Jim) and Melinda "Cookie" Austin (Mike). Also surviving are nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two siblings, Charles Johnson, JoAnn Smith; many nieces and nephews; and his special dogs "Mickey" and "Patrick."
Visitation 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 19, and after 10 a.m. Thursday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road in New Albany, Indiana. Funeral service 2 p.m.Thursday October 20th, at in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel with private burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
