Ronald "Ronnie" Gene Colvin Obituary

New Albany, Indiana - Ronald "Ronnie" Gene Colvin, 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2025, at U of L Health - Jewish Hospital. Born in Clark County, Indiana, on January 26, 1943, Ronnie was the beloved son of the late Carl and Wanda Colvin.

Ronnie proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After his military service, he went on to have a distinguished career as a retired Engineer from Norfolk Southern Railway.

He was a dedicated member of several organizations, including the New Albany V.F.W. 1693, Elks Lodge #270, Fraternal Order of Eagles #1527, and Masonic Lodge #39.

Ronnie will be deeply missed by his loving family. He is survived by his sons, Paul Colvin and Jason Colvin, both of Newport News, VA; his daughter, Amanda Colvin of Martinsburg, WV; and his grandchildren, Marina, April, Amber, and Emmit. He also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Peyton. He is survived by his cousins Dallas Meyer and Sheldon Meyer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Wanda Colvin, and his son, Jeffrey Wayne Colvin.

A Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at E.M. Coots' Sons Funeral Home with cremation to follow. Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the service.
