New Albany, Indiana - Ronald K. Sparkman, 88, passed away on Sunday November 16, 2025. He was born in New Albany to the late Bernetta and Raymond Sparkman, and he was a graduate of New Albany High School where he played football on the undefeated Bulldog Team in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army and went on to become the Owner of Payne Sparkman Manufacturing Inc. Ron was a volunteer at Clark Memorial Hospital, and he was a member at the Southeast Christian Church(Indiana Campus) where he was very active with helping the special needs kids. He was a Past-President of the Kiwanis Club of Historic New Albany, where he chaired the former Kiwanis Go-Kart race that was a featured event for Harvest Homecoming. It was the largest single fund-raising event in the Kiwanis Club History and resulted in Ron being named the Kiwanian of the Year. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandsons: Cray Trimble and Casey Kraft, and his brother: Jim Sparkman.

Ron is survived by his wife of 25 years: Linda Mires Sparkman, his four daughters: Teresa Robinson(Chris), Lisa Fraley, Ronda Trimble(Tom) and Cheryl Van Hook(Ben), three sons: R. Kevin Sparkman, Brad Mires(Nancy) and Jeff Mires(Michelle), 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Ron's life will be held at 2 PM Friday December 5, 2025 at the Southeast Christian Church(Indiana Campus): 1309 Charlestown-New Albany Rd: Jeffersonville, IN. 47130. Visitation will be at the church from 12 Noon - 2 PM Friday before the service. His interment at Walnut Ridge Cemetery will be private.
