Shari R. Whitehead, 52, of Scottsburg, IN, passed away at 7:05 AM on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at her mothers home.

Born December 20, 1965 in Louisville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Richard Franklin Targonski and the late Darvin Wayne Hendrix & Sue (Lambert) Hendrix, who survives in Scottsburg, IN.

Shari was a 1984 Scottsburg High School graduate and was a member of Scaffold Lick Baptist Church. While battling breast cancer she became affiliated with Fillies which was a support group associated with Susan B. Komen. She was an avid reader and loved spending time with family and friends.

On November 17, 1984 in Scottsburg, IN, she married the love of her life, Scott Whitehead, who survives in Lexington, IN.

Other survivors include 2 daughters, Emily (Joseph) Ritter of Lafayette, IN, Taylor Whitehead of Scottsburg, IN, 1 granddaughter, Delayna Ritter of Lafayette, IN, 4 brothers, Bradley Hendrix, Troy Hendrix, Richard Hendrix, Michael Hendrix, one ½ brother, Richard Targonski, father in law and mother in law, Lowell & Kathy Whitehead, 1 sister in law, Venita Whitehead Sterrett.

Cremation services have been entrusted to Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Scottsburg.

The family requests memorial donations may be given to Susan B. Komen or American Cancer Society c/o Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Scottsburg, 138 Westavia Blvd. Scottsburg, IN 47170.
