Jeffersonville, Indiana - Sherry Kay Jones, a cherished friend and beloved family member, passed away on January 30, 2026, at the age of 69. She was born on January 11, 1957, in Gary, Indiana.
Throughout her life, Sherry cultivated strong and meaningful relationships with her friends and family, who will forever remember her fondly. She is survived by her daughter, Brooke Staples; her sisters, Nancy Wilding and Kathy (Bernard) Maertz; and her grandson, Kaden Cluckey. Sherry also leaves behind her nieces, Diana (Nick) Prentice, Nicole (Michael) Upton, and Morgan Maertz (Gil), along with her extended family, Kathy & Bob Snelling, Dana Reuter, and Michelle Stolt. Sherry's loyal companion, her beloved dog Roxy, was a constant presence in her life and provided comfort and joy.
Her parents, Coach Jerry Jones and Beverly (Nichols) Jones, precede Sherry in death.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Visitation will continue on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Her funeral service will follow at 11:00 am on Saturday, at the funeral home.
