Dunedin, FL - Sherry Ann Stemle passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, in Dunedin, Florida, just four days shy of her 88th birthday.

She was born on January 27, 1938, in New Albany, Indiana, to Nova and Thelma Corbett. Sherry grew up in New Albany and was a proud graduate of New Albany High School. She went on to earn a degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University and later a Master's Degree from Indiana University Southeast.

On July 26, 1957, Sherry married the love of her life, Frank Stemle, in Killeen, Texas. Together, they raised their family in French Lick, Indiana, where Sherry dedicated many years to teaching elementary school at Springs Valley. She was a devoted educator whose care and commitment left a lasting impact on countless students. Sherry was also a faithful member of Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church.

Throughout her life, Sherry found joy in traveling, reading, crafting, painting, and, most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her creativity, kindness, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Nova and Thelma Corbett; her beloved husband, Frank Stemle; her son, Scott Stemle; and her sisters, Evelyn and Donna.

She is survived by her children, Steve (Laura) Stemle of Lake Worth, Florida, and Cara (Dan) Fisher of Palm Harbor, Florida; her daughter-in-law, Tiffani (Scott) Stemle of French Lick, Indiana; and her brother, Donald "Bud" Corbett and his wife, Carime, of Winter Haven, Florida.

She also leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren: Sara, Michael, and Luke (children of Steve and Laura); Kelsey, Thomas, and Annastasia (children of Cara and Dan); and Elizabeth, Gabrielle, and Isaac (children of Scott and Tiffani). Sherry was also blessed with two great-grandchildren: Weston and Memphis (children of Isaac).

A celebration of Sherry's life will be held at her assisted living facility at a later date.
