Shirley Bell, 88, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Friday, December 29,2023. She was a lifetime member of Depauw Church. Enjoyed traveling, IU basketball, and the New Albany Bulldogs. She retired from ACBL after 16 years as a payroll clerk, then retired from Penzoil as a bookkeeper and payroll clerk and worked part time for Honey Baked Ham. She graduated from New Albany High School in 1953. She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi.
Shirley was born on June 26,1935 to the late Albert and Gladys (Graves) Baumann. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Albert C. Baumann, Jr.
Shirley is survived by her loving children, James (Carol) Bell, Debbie (Chet) Deich, Mary Lou (Bobby) Brooks all from New Albany. Grandchildren, Hillary (Adam) Day, Wendy (Billy) Dragoo, Colin (Morgan) Bell, Jamie (Dre) Kapsalis, Step grandchildren, Leah Riggs, Darren Deich, Kristi (Jeffery) Winner, Sarah (Robert) Waters. Great grandchildren, Brady Day, Cooper Day, Oscar Dragoo, Millie Dragoo, Dottie Dragoo, Hadley Bell, Berkeley Bell, Lincoln Bell, Step great grandchildren, Ellora Riggs, Ava Winner, and Skyler Waters. Two sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 3,2024 from 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM at Naville & Seabrook Funeral Home 1119 E. Market St. New Albany, IN with funeral service at 1:30 PM. Burial to follow at Graceland Memorial Park.
Expressions of sympathy may go to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, American Cancer Society or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
