Jeffersonville, Indiana - Stephen Ralph Northam, 81, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away Tuesday, January 27,
2026. He was born on July 20, 1944, to the late Ralph and Dorothy Northam.
Steve attended St. Augustine Grade School, Jeffersonville High School, and Indiana University.
He proudly cheered on the Red Devils and Hoosiers in recent championships. Stephen served
in the US Army from 1967 to 1969. He was an employee of Zeon Chemicals for 31 years.
He was a proud lifelong parishioner of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Jeffersonville. He
was well known for his sense of humor, beautiful singing voice, love of Hilton Head Island, and
most recently his routine and discussion of daytime television.
Steve was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Ann Gorey Northam. They were married
June 16, 1973, at the Church of the Annunciation in Parish, KY. He was also preceded in
death by his granddaughter Addie Koch and sister Mary Ann Ellis. He is survived by his
daughters; Katie Koch (Charles) of Cynthiana, KY and Tracy Northam of Jeffersonville, Indiana;
granddaughters, Sutton, Delaney, and Charleigh Koch of Cynthiana, KY, and sister Lynda
Echiverri of San Antonio, TX.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm, with The Rosary prayed at 6:30pm, at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. The Rosary will be held at 6:30. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 315 E. Chestnut Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. Burial will take place at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
