Terence "Terry" Lee Schuster Obituary

Clarksville - Terence "Terry" Lee Schuster passed unexpectedly on November 10, 2023, at a hospital in Louisville, KY surrounded by his loving daughters. He was 76 years old. Born on February 18, 1947 in Wisconsin, he was the son of Mathias and Josephine (Steffes) Schuster. He grew up on a small dairy farm with eight siblings.

Terry is survived by his sister Alma (Morris) Laessig of Stratford, WI; daughter, Terri-Lyn Parella (Luigi), grandchildren, Tiziana and Raffaele; four great-grandchildren of Naples, Italy, and daughter, Stacy Arreglado (John) of Vine Grove, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Romilda Rohr, Fr. George (Lawrence) Schuster, Gladys Schuster, Sr. Mary Andre (Dorothy) Schuster, Anthony Schuster, Virgine Sauer, and Mary Alice Stangl.

Terry spent his professional career in the Marine Corp as a combat medic and then as a hospital corpsman in the U.S. Navy. He retired after 26 years, earning a Purple Heart during the Vietnam War. He then spent the next 24 years as a fixture of Fink's Sales and Service. Compassionate and kind, he had a deep respect for those he served and worked with.

He was a fabulous father and loving grandfather, speaking often of his grandkids in Italy. He always put others' needs first and felt deeply for those giving of selfless service. He enjoyed retirement and spent time with friends and family including his "adopted" son, Doug. He was an avid reader fascinated with Western stories and history. He found great pleasure in cooking for his neighbors, riding his Harley, and caring for his dogs. Terry was never far away, as he could be found walking his chihuahua Bella or visiting neighbors. He never met a stranger and was sure to tell a joke to make you feel better.

He will be missed by so many.

Services will take place Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville. The visitation is from 1 to 4 p.m. with the funeral service at 4 p.m. Military Honors service to be held at Arlington, VA at a date later to be determined.
