Clarksville, Indiana - New Albany, Indiana

Thelma Louise Frakes, 100, passed away, Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Charlestown Place in New Albany, Indiana. She was born May 29 1925 in Louisville, KY the daughter of Jesse and Delpha Burkhead Williams. She was a retired employee of the U.S. Census Bureau, she had been a volunteer of the Colgate Quilters until her vision failed, she attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Jeffersonville, IN as long as her health allowed it. She and her husband Paul were avid square dancers with the Merry Makers Club, a love that they both shared. Thelma was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be sorely missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul Frakes, daughter, Paula Frakes and son, Kenneth Frakes. She is survived by her daughters, Marsha Wallace and Sharon Dennison, a son, Michael Frakes; grandchildren, David Frakes (Monica), Diana Menendez (Marcel), Priscilla Carmickle, Schoen Wallace (Amanda), Adam Dennison and Natalie Frakes (Adis); and great grandchildren, Christopher, Marcus, Devon, Evan, Alyssa, Elliot, August and Emi. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown, IN. Burial will follow at Wolfe Cemetery in Georgetown, IN. Visitation will be from 12 PM until the service at 2 PM also at the funeral home in Georgetown, IN.
