Funeral Mass for William "Bill" Elliott Sr., 100, Jeffersonville, will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 316 North Sherwood Ave., Clarksville. Burial to follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville. He passed away, Saturday, September 30, 2023, at his home. Bill was born June 10, 1923 to the late Richard and Edna Elliott.

He was an armorer in the Army Air Corps (now US Air Force) during World War II, serving with the 29th Bomb Group stationed in Guam. After service, he retired from GMAC as an accounting manager and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, where he also volunteered his time over the years. Bill was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 1348, American Legion Post 35, VFW Post 1832, and the 29th Bomb Group Association. After retirement, he was a picture framer and a newspaper carrier for 28 years. He was a very competitive Pinochle and Euchre card player (where his hand frequently contained 9's and 10's).

Bill is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Elizabeth "Bib"; his sons, Bill Elliott Jr., Gary Elliott and Denny Elliott; two brothers; and two sisters.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Elliott Kennedy (Tim); his son, John Elliott (Jyne); seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, with one due in March; and daughters-in-law, Donna Elliott (widow of Bill Elliott Jr.) and Karen Elliott (widow of Gary Elliott). The family would like to offer a special note of thanks to his caregivers, Julia Hines and Glenda Marin.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, October 5 at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, and again on Friday, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
