Brandenburg, Kentucky - On December 17, 2024, William T. Moore Jr. of Brandenburg, KY, formerly of Jeffersonville, IN, went to Heaven to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was 86 years old.
Tom (aka Tommy) was born July 23, 1938, son of the late William T. Moore Sr. and Nora Moore Hendricks. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and Jerry Chandler; stepdad, Edward Hendricks; and a great-nephew, Chad Rankin.
He graduated from Jeffersonville High School in 1956 and proudly served in the United States Army. Tom was an avid golfer and enjoyed cheering on the Red Devils and Hoosiers. He was also known to bet the ponies now and then and enjoyed family reunions at Churchill Downs.
He was a former member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and a lifelong member of the Elks Club (BPOE) both in Jeffersonville, where he held many offices. He was a charter member of the Meade Activity Center and member of the United Methodist Church, Brandenburg, KY where he resided with his wife Jessie.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Jessie; his children and their families, Kelle (Steve) Pope of Columbus, IN; grandchildren, Megan, Shelby (Mavrick), and Alex; great-grandchildren, Rowan and Lana; Kristie (Mike) Pruzin of Fishers, IN; grandchildren, Kyla and Cory Bradley T. Moore of Jeffersonville, IN, Brenda (Chris) Fitzgerald of Greenville, IN; grandchildren, Breah and Ty; bonus son, Skip (Gwen) Ashley of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Trey, Shelby, Savannah, and Zach.
Due to inclement weather the Celebration of life was postponed from January 5, 2025, to February 16, 2025. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to the time of service at 2 p.m. at the Brandenburg United Methodist Church in Brandenburg, KY.
